little fluffy clouds and a rainbow for you

Here you will find the template I used for the cloud. I have been granted permission to link the post. I am so thrilled with the way my cloud wall hanging turned out. It was inspired by a home teach Spanish lady and you can find more of her creativity and positivity by visiting.

I made this. Really I did...

This is my latest creation. It is a wall decoration for my son's bedroom wall.  I really love it.  It has turned out so well.  I know I am blowing my own trumpet on this one, but if you want to comment on this piece of work please feel free to do so.  Your comments are so welcome.  I need to take some up close shots of the rain detail and the blanket stitching on the clouds and the rainbow.  I am going to put one in my shop over the next few days.

It is 24" in length and 13" at its widest point.

What a great weekend

This weekend was great. I have spent time with my friends and family. My aunt and cousin came over, my close friend Cheryl and her husband visited and Colette came over with Daisy (Daisy is a lemon Bassett hound, and very frisky with it).

I really have had busy days this weekend but enjoyable all the same.

Creations have resulted from this weeks play time. I made this brooch late last night for my aunt.

This is felt rose made to the specs on lolly's site.  I have included blanket stitch around the edge which gives it a new look.  These colours were to my aunt's liking, personally I would prefer brighter colours so I know what my next project will be.

I have been making needle books with matching bottle top pincushions. These make great gifts. I will publish a tute for the needle books so keep checking back.

And here are its contents:

Late nights and early mornings.

I have been up for hours.  The baby woke up in the middle of the night and my OH wanted to talk when we got in bed so I am suitably shattered.  Tis bright and beautiful, but bitterly cold out and I am supposed to go out to the shops today.  What is a girl to do?  Stay in warm and comfy with family and good craft or go out to pay bills and shop for good craft?  Decisions, decisions.  I know getting out will be great but I am still in hibernation mode, oh what to do.

My son loved his canvas and has added colour to make it his own.  It now looks like this.  He has started a new one too.

Still undecided.  If I head into town I could pick him up some markers and some canvases (it is half term).   Oh I feel my decision might be to go out after all.  Yes and then I can share images of my stash.  That's it.  My bath is running.  It is not hard to get me to spend money.

I did say I would post better pictures of my fish fing so as promised...

And I am up this late because...

My oh is trying to take some pictures of things he wants to sell on ebay. Really he wants me to sort everything out and I won't. He won't learn if I do it for him so I am trying to take a step back and not take over. Boy it is hard.

Anyway whilst assisting from afar I have been busying myself with artistic pursuits and this is what I have come up with.

up in the clouds and the apple doesn't fall far from the tree

Well not actually that high at all. I have been making clouds. I have been feeling (by that I mean liking and craft-lusting) after a make including clouds. I found a great template on Scribd. (So loving Scribd) which was intended for paper. I am going to have a real play as I can see it being an altered paper project, but I focusing on making wall hangings for the youngun's room and so I am playing with felt. It is looking cool. Some teasers to tempt you. I will find out if I am allowed to link the template and then if I can I will.

My son always impresses me with his doodles and drawings. Take a look and decide for yourself.

He took this picture and I should have done but you will see what I mean.

Felt Fishy Fing

I made this hanging ornament using 7 fish. (I promise to take better pictures tomorrow in the light.)  I used along doll needle and white embroidery floss (six strands).  I inserted the needle then separated the fish (front from back) with a little pinch, before forcing the needle into the body and through the mouth.  In total I made 28 little fishes and I have strung four hangings like this one.  I am going to create a tute for this.  I will post that soon.  I am sure there a lots of people out there with stray bits of felt which need some attention.  Both my sons have on of these hangings in their rooms.  The one I have an image of is for a friend's son.  I really enjoyed making them, using up otherwise unused supplies.

Fish on the brain

Or is it that fish are good for the brain or is it that my brain is like a fish. Well last week there were not many posts. On this day, last week, I lost my camera. The camera I left in my luggage after returning from holiday for ages, believing it to be lost. Hmm. Never to be beaten I am posting my latest makes using my son's camera. Thanks hun

poorly narrative

Feeling a bit under the weather. Feeling sorry for myself. I really don't know what is wrong with me. I am guessing it is a virus given the time of year, but in all honesty I was on my back half of Saturday and Sunday. I must admit to felling a little bit better now. I am a tad stiff around the neck area, and my throat is sore. Gosh this is a poorly narrative. I will stop now. I am sure I will be feeling much more like me tomorrow.

fabric bow tutorial

This tutorial is for how to make a fabric bow which can be used as an embellishment to adorn hair clips, bags purses or indeed any fabric project where a three dimensional element would be fitting.  Enjoy :)

I do hope you get the gist from the images. I dunno about you but a picture speaks a thousand words. Hope you like.

I have a shop and other stuff...

I know there are a lot of people out there selling their handmade goods.  Now I am too.

I have had some really positive feed back and so I decided to give it a go.

We will see how it goes.
