No pictures, no blogging, no makes

Sorry I am a bad blogger.  The sun has been too good.  I have been out of doors mostly over the last few days, barbecuing, having fun with the family.  I am suffering like most form the effects of pollen but I am trying not to let that get to me too much.  I could be worse.

The housework needs to be completed early in the morning as later in the day I wanna be outside and it would be too hot to swing hoover around and potter in the way that I do.

A whole load of us played rounders yesterday and I thought I would be aching from the physical activity but I did quite well participating and this morning I am not sore.  Perhaps tomorrow.

I did find a great flower tute the other day, but I did not have time to blog and I know this post is very random but I hope you will find this link a good un.  I will post piccies of the ones that I have made when I get the chance.

Escapism

This morning has had its own levels of stress.  Not to worry there is always craft.

I have a repair job to do for my OH so I will get that done and then play.  I have spent the last few days Spring cleaning.  I even got done with the cooker so I think I need some chill out time.

Repairs first then fun and hopefully I will have spoils to share later.

Ah the weekend and with such a busy week crafting this week I have to spend some much needed time catching up on chores.  I have already been shopping, prepared tonight's dinner and cleaned the kitchen up again.  I have two loads of washing to put away and that is just for starters.  Already it is 12.30 here and there is so much more to be done before I can sit and be satisfied with the day's work.  Well I can now add posting on my blog to the never ending list of things I have to do.

I know I am not alone.  There are so many of us out there.  If only we could lend each other a hand.

Romantic Heart Tutorial.

It took ages but hopefully it will be useful.  Find it here

Tuesday, 11 May 2010

It is really hard taking pictures that really do reflect the quality of what I have made.  Someone told me that I could scan things by placing them on the flat bed scanner with a sheet over the item.  Sounds convoluted but I thought I'll try it.  I don't know if I did something wrong but  the scanned images were not  good.

Anyway I made this Romantic lacy  brooch that really does brighten up the plainest top.  I love the layers and  getting back to what this post began with, can't really be seen.  I either need a new camera (long overdue) or I need a photography course.
The layers are made from cotton lace, cotton lawn linen, cheesecloth and a lace trimming with a button attached for good measure.

I made two new white hearts here they are.

I'm having a heart attack (of the crafting kind)

Another work in progress!

The progress was quick!

Hung Hearts

I think these pictures look better.  Off to make more.

New Heart

I have had a sad busy week.  My close friend was buried Thursday just past and that was a difficult day.  I am  glad to say that things went as well as could be expected.

I finished the little bear and dressed her.  There are no pictures because I gave it to the daughter of my friend and my other half had taken the camera fishing.

Yesterday I made a skirt.  Well it is not quite finished, the light is bad, but today I made this.  Thought I'd share because I have been missing so much.

It is a small gift for my friend Cheryl who loves that romantic style.  I love the texture.

In Scrapsville, yesterday was the May bank holiday.  We all had extra time to relax.  My aunt visited and we ate naughty take out for tea.  Today we are going to be good.

I did use my fingers to play yesterday and made this little beaut.

today I will finish her.  She needs a face and something to wear.  I thought I might make her a bed too and a toy quilt.    I am getting quite carried away I know.  She has no name as yet.  Suggestions welcome.

Gift Wrap

I believe that half the fun of getting a pressie is the anticipation.  Let's face it we all have our ungrateful moments when we receive a gift that just doesn't do it.   Like I said, the anticipation has something to do with the thrill of the gift.  I have an essentials kit for gift wrap.  It is not expensive or particularly exciting but I hope you will agree that the gifts I've wrapped look at least intriguing.

I am sure you have great tips on wrapping.  Leave a comment and share your ideas. ( A girl can feel quite alone here in Scapsville.)
The Gift Wrap Kit I referred to earlier comprises:
sandwich sacks,
generic wrapping paper with a repeated motif (hence the owls),
string, staples,
glue and tissue paper.

I haven't made labels but you could use the kit to do that too.  I must say that if I received either one of those gifts I would be intrigued.

Where the Wild Things Are

What a strange movie.  I did the Saturday morning cheap seats and took both Marcus and Angelo to see this flick.  It does not compare with 'Train Yourself a Dragon' in any way, shape or form.  Am I disappointed, in a word...  YES!!!  Another word springs to mind 'DIS-FUNCTIONAL'

OK rant over.

Angelo was really well behaved today.  I will make sure that the film is more suitable in the future.  You can't  assume PG means its okay for your kids.  Okay lesson learned.  And that is it today from Scrapsville.
